My studio is located along the shores of Finn Bay on Birch Lake south of Ely, Minnesota. Living on the edge of the Boundary Waters and only forty miles as the crow flies from Lake Superior, I have some of the most beautiful forest and water and wildlife in the country just off of my back doorstep. I have been a physical education teacher and coach of several sports at Ely Memorial High School for the last 31 years. My love of athletics made including action sports as part of my portfolio a natural. I have exhibited at the MacRostie Art Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and at the International Art Center in Ely. I am currently a member of good standing on Sports Shooters.com, Canon Professional Services, NaturePhotographers, and am a regular contributor to local papers. I have shot for MN Prep Sports. I was the official photographer for the Central Plains Regional Legion Baseball Tournament in 2005 and the Minnesota State Legion Tournament in 2007. Recently I was contracted to shoot the "Battle by the Bay" Elite AAA Hockey Tournament including 32 teams and 62 games over four days.

Photography has been a part of my life since winning a box camera at a carnival ring toss when I was six years old. Though a hobby for many years, I began taking photos professionally about twenty years ago. Never making enough to quit my day job, and while my kids were growing up, most of my photography took a back seat to the rest of my life until 2004. With more time available and a little change in my pocket I started to prepare for retirement by increasing my time behind a camera.
